About the Author
Emmanuel Jal is a former child soldier from the Democratic Republic of Congo. He was abducted from his village and forced to join a rebel group when he was just 12 years old. For the next five years, he was subjected to unimaginable horrors, including violence, sexual abuse, and psychological trauma.
After escaping from the rebel group, Emmanuel dedicated his life to helping other children who have been affected by war. He is now a successful advocate for children's rights, and he travels the world sharing his story in the hope of preventing others from suffering the same fate.
