Dancing Through It: My Journey in the Ballet
Paloma Herrera was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1975. She began studying ballet at the age of four, and by the age of 16, she was a member of the prestigious Teatro Colón ballet company. In 1995, she joined the American Ballet Theatre, where she quickly rose to the rank of principal dancer.

Herrera's career was marked by both triumph and tragedy. She won numerous awards, including the prestigious Prix Benois de la Danse in 1997. However, she also suffered several serious injuries, including a torn Achilles tendon in 2005.
Despite these setbacks, Herrera never gave up on her dream of dancing. She returned to the stage time and time again, and she continued to inspire audiences with her grace and artistry.
In 2015, Herrera retired from dancing after a 20-year career. She now works as a choreographer and teacher, and she continues to share her love of dance with the world.
Dancing Through It is Herrera's memoir, and it is a story that is both inspiring and heartbreaking. Herrera writes about her childhood in Argentina, her training at the Teatro Colón, and her years with the American Ballet Theatre. She also writes about her injuries, her triumphs, and her decision to retire.
Dancing Through It is a must-read for anyone who loves dance, or for anyone who has ever dreamed of pursuing their dreams. Herrera's story is a reminder that anything is possible with hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
